Who this is for

If you have never done this before

The hardest trip is the first one. Which country, which airline, what a visa actually requires, whether the hotel is where it looks like it is on the map. Discovery Journeys exist so that none of that is your problem.

We pick destinations that reward first-time travellers: manageable distances, straightforward entry requirements, and places where being new does not make the trip harder. Then we book the lot and stay reachable while you are away.

Visa assistance is part of this. We provide requirement checklists, a document checklist, an application preparation guide and a realistic timeline. To be clear about what that is and is not: it is guidance and preparation support, never a guarantee of approval, and any company promising otherwise is worth walking away from.

Inside Discovery Journeys

Where first trips usually go

Six regions, ordered roughly from easiest to hardest for a first-time traveller from the Philippines. That order is about flight length and paperwork, not about how good the trip is. Tell us which names below make you lean forward and we will start there.

Philippines
Boracay Palawan Cebu Bohol Siargao

No passport, no visa, no long flight. Where we send people who want the feeling of a first trip without the paperwork.

Asia
Japan South Korea Thailand Vietnam

Our most common first stop abroad. Short flights, straightforward entry for Philippine passport holders, and easy to get around once you land.

Europe
Netherlands France Italy Spain Switzerland

The bigger first trip. Worth doing properly, and worth starting the visa paperwork early. We will tell you honestly how long that takes.

Africa & Middle East
Egypt Morocco South Africa Jordan

Ancient sites and desert landscapes, with more logistics behind the scenes. Better as a second or third trip than a first.

Americas
USA Canada Mexico South America

Long flights and the most demanding visa process of the six. Plan on months, not weeks, and start with us early.

Oceania
Australia New Zealand

Long haul but genuinely easy once you arrive. Popular with families and with anyone visiting relatives.

If this is your very first trip abroad

Say so in your first message. We steer first trips toward the top of that list, walk you through the visa paperwork rather than emailing you a checklist, and build in more slack than an experienced traveller would need. There is no extra charge for any of that, and we would rather talk you into an easier destination than sell you a harder one.
