Leaving a place better than we found it
We work with local guides and community partners rather than importing staff, because the money should stay where the trip happens. On Masungi the conservation fee goes straight to the reserve at cost, funding rangers and reforestation. On the mountains our guides come from the communities that have lived there for generations.
Practically, that means smaller groups, refillable bottles instead of single-use plastic, leave-no-trace on every hike, and partners chosen for how they treat people and places rather than only on price.

How do I book, and how do I pay?
Message us on WhatsApp, Viber or Messenger. We send the full details and payment instructions, you pay a ₱1,000 reservation fee per person to hold your slot, fill in the registration form, and settle the balance no later than three days before the trip. Unpaid slots after that cut-off are released. GCash and bank transfer.
What is included in a day tour price?
Round-trip transportation by private van, all permits and registration fees, a local guide, a Trouvaille Diaro coordinator travelling with the group, breakfast and trail snacks, bottled water, a proper sit-down lunch, and freebies: a drawstring bag, hiker certificate and group photos.
Can I get a refund if I cannot make it?
Reservation fees are non-refundable but they are transferable. You can pass your slot to someone else with 48 hours notice, or move to another date. If we cancel for weather or an operational reason, you choose between another date or credit against any other trip. You never lose the money.
What is the difference between private and joiners?
A private booking runs on your date, with only your group, and we collect you door to door anywhere in Metro Manila. A joiners departure runs on set dates from the McDonald’s Quezon Avenue assembly point in Quezon City, you share the van with other travellers, and the price per person is lower. Minimum 10 joiners.
Do you help with visas?
Yes, as part of Discovery Journeys and Bespoke Journeys. We provide requirement checklists, a document checklist, application preparation guidance and a realistic timeline. To be clear, that is preparation support and never a guarantee of approval, which is entirely the embassy’s decision.
Do you only run trips in the Philippines?
No. Local Escapes are day tours out of Manila and are what we run most, but Signature Expeditions, Discovery Journeys and Bespoke Journeys are international, covering Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, the Americas and Oceania.
